Celebrating an Engagement at Town Hall: Larry + Tim

There are many people who cross our paths in our lives. And sometimes we get to cross paths once. Twice, if we’re lucky. Some people call it serendipity. Others call it fate. Larry and Tim rode the same San Francisco Muni bus to work in the mornings and although they saw each other on the [...]

Friendship, a Basque Evening, and a 50mm

It will be yummy and a place I suspect no one has been……..curious? That’s what the email said last August. Back in 2004, some of my friends and I used to get together randomly and spend time with each other whenever we were free. Simply spontaneous and unplanned. Hours would turn into whole day affairs. [...]

Help-Portrait: A Picture Is Worth

The last time I had my photo professionally taken was in my senior year of high school. If we wanted to be in the yearbook, we had to pay a specific photography company $10 to have our picture taken that was then forwarded to the school’s yearbook staff. The photos weren’t exactly the best quality [...]

Philanthropy Through Photography

When I was in high school, I volunteered quite a bit.  I volunteered because that was a common thing to do with friends especially through after-school clubs and of course, trying to fill up that transcript for college applications to convince the admissions committees that you were a well-rounded student worthy of being accepted. Moss Landing Sea Otter

Last month, I went on a staff overnight retreat for work. After a ridiculous number of pit stops before we were actually on our way in our party van with 12 seats, we got distracted by some sea otters hanging out in the water on the way to Phil’s Fish Market for lunch. We had [...]

Safety In Numbers

My New Year’s Eve didn’t turn out as I expected. I was looking for something chill and opted for dinner in Sausalito (at Poggio Trattoria, started by an Il Fornaio implant, which had a good deal and delicious food). After dinner, we ended up at O’Neils Irish Pub (friend of a friend of a friend’s [...]

Work-Life Balance with Roomba

At the Grace Hopper Conference I attended last month, I went to the “Entrepreneurship: The Fundamentals (and Fun) of Idea Generation” breakout session with Denise Brosseau, President & Co-Founder, Invent Your Future Enterprises, a long-time business coach and serial entrepreneur. We went through a few of her exercises aimed to get us thinking about “mov[ing] [...]
